Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Burton and Uttoxeter Jon Wheale was our guest speaker at Labour Branch last night.
Jon gave us an brief introduction about his upbringing in Burton, his career in the Army, his subsequent studies in Human Rights and selection as Labour Candidate.
After a discussion on the recent County Council Elections and his campaign he answered a number of questions including subjects such as Human Rights, Immigration, Media Profile and Europe with honesty and great ability.
We are grateful for Jon and his CLP secretary Andrew Betteridge for coming and we hope he enjoyed his light South Derbyshire grilling!
