The Parish Church of Gresley St. George and St. Mary (Church of England)
Whilst the church was originally built in the early part of the 12th Century, it is to this day a warm, vibrant family friendly church catering for all ages. York Road Methodist Church
Like St George and Mary, the Methodist Church provides a very warm welcome, but is a more modern church and is situated opposite the Infant and Nursery School. It is part of the South Derbyshire Methodist Circuit which includes 12 churches. Details on all of the churches, ministers and services are available on the website:

South Derbyshire Mining Preservation Group?
Based at the Old Hall in Church Gresley this non-profit making organisation aims to preserve South Derbyshire’s mining heritage. Mining took place in the local area from the 13th Century up until 1990 with the closure of Donisthorpe Colliery and had a huge impact on the area in many ways.
The group has a large collection of photographs and artefacts which are displayed regularly at Sharpe’s Pottery, Swadlincote Library and also at local schools. There is also currently an impressive display at the Conkers Discovery Centre in Moira.
